It’s time to get out of the traditional spots of Bangkok like Tong Lor, Kao San and Silom. Open up your eyes, your ears and senses to come take a tour around Lad Phrao 71 and Chok Chai 4 Coffee Shops! You will find many styles of spaces to enjoy no matter the time of day. Artisan / Kiew Kai Ka – 71.

Opened in March 2017, this shop is connected with the restaurant Kiew Kai Ka and their sister flower shop. The small complex has an serene garden at its center, with occasional sprays of cooling mists during Bangkok heat. There are plenty of sweets worth trying in the café, including rose-shaped jellies and coconut custards. Choose a seat inside in their retro couches, at the work tables, or upstairs in their trendy loft.

Kaethy the Witch Café

Unique sweets and décor to match. Offering a wide selection of teas that can be paired with a platter of owl-shaped scones with a set of delectable toppings. The whole shop is in keeping with its theme — all the baked goods have been crafted as if in a witches cauldron, including syringes, bats, and magic potions.

Portobello – DESIRE

The farthest out, but worth it for a relaxing atmosphere. This can be both a place to enjoy coffee and English-style tea, as well as European entrees, served on large platters. There are animals to visit, including a large, sleepy pig in its pen, rabbits, and ducks and fish in the pond.

Sena Nikhom road. The name comes from their homemade gelato, made from machines purchased in Italy. Years of experience in Phuket, the owners decided to move back to Bangkok and open up shop right in Sena, next to a large pond. The pond is home to many large catfish, which you can feed from a covered wooden dock. Fish food is prepared and yours for a donation of 10 or 20 baht. If you’re adventurous, you might ask them to take a boat out to get to the fish in the middle of the pond. There is a wide terrace outside with seating and umbrellas, or indoor air conditioning if you prefer. A great place to spend the afternoon relaxing, and an opportunity to feed fish.

24 aka UP All Night 

Its name is actually is ‘Up All Night’ for the exact reason that you can go there when you need to be up all night working, studying, or just hanging out with friends. There is a large sign out front advertising their open status of 24 hours. Inside is full of unique places to sit, including a table or two where you can get your fix of Pacman or other arcade games. There is a nice large meeting room in the back, and a narrow loft upstairs with short tables where you can sit cozily on the floor.

Baan Hom Glin Dao

A small café set in an old Thai house with drinks served in large glasses, and can be enjoyed inside or preferably outside in their unique outside patios, or up on their outdoor rooftop loft.

Wood Café

Only open on the weekends, but this Café is worth the weekday wait. They have plenty of desserts to select from, including slices of traditional flavor banana cake. They also serve food, and have several locations both inside and outside. If you’re looking for some unique gifts, such as wooden handicrafts, lamp shades, or clothing, you can find a small selection inside the coffee shop. Come here to enjoy the environment, music, and company of your party, but don’t expect to connect to the Internet or pull our your computer for work here – They do not provide Wifi outdoors, giving you the chance to connect with nature and the people closest to you.

Coffee Crush

A secluded location in a neighborhood, this Café has a modern design and may be best enjoyed in the evening after the sun has set on their veranda on the second floor.

Doi Chang at Plaza Lagoon

Relocated into a larger corner location, this coffee shop is known for its coffee, harvested in the mountains in northern Thailand. There is a nice veranda as well as seating inside. Or, you can enjoy the coffee in a to-go cup around the lake at one of the decks for the night restaurants. These open at 5 so be sure to make way for their preparation around 4.

Opening at around 7 PM, this is a small milk shop that used to be just a milk truck but has now expanded to a proper shop front on Lad Phrao 71 – Nak Niwat. Open until late, this is a relaxing street side place to get your coffee and milk fix, and some delicious toast while you’re at it (Toasted until it is at a deep golden brown color).
